Royston was the hometown of baseball legend, Ty
Cobb, as well as one of the main filming locations for the movie "Cobb," so it's
only fitting that we also play host to the Ty Cobb Museum. The museum fosters
education and understanding of baseball and Ty Cobb by providing art and
memorabilia, film, video, books and other historical archives.
Situated on a wooded peninsula, Tugaloo State
Park's cottages and campsites offer spectacular views of 55,590-acre Lake
Hartwell. Fishing is excellent year-round, and largemouth bass are plentiful.
During the summer, the lake is a popular destination for swimming, water-skiing
and boating. Hikers can explore both the Crow Tree and Muscadine nature trails
which wind through the park's oak, walnut, mulberry and cherry trees.
Nestled in the rolling hills of Georgia's Upper Piedmont, Victoria
Bryant State Park is one of Georgia's best kept secrets. A beautiful
stream flows through the park, providing a beautiful setting for a
picnic. Hikers can follow either the short nature trail or the longer
perimeter trail that winds through hardwoods and crosses creeks.
Animal lovers should |
|
keep an eye out for a
variety of wildlife while passing food plots along the perimeter
trail.
Golfers will enjoy the
park's Highland Walk Golf Course, which offers a clubhouse, on-site
golf pro, unlimited weekday play and junior/senior discounts.
